Bartlett High School Names Valedictorian & Salutatorian

Elizabeth Brawner is Bartlett High School’s Class of 2019 Valedictorian. Lizzy currently holds a 4.63 weighted grade point average, consistently challenging herself throughout high school with Honors and Advanced Placement coursework. Her phenomenal academic achievements have earned memberships into the Beta Club, National Honor Society, and the National Spanish Honor Society. Lizzy has served Bartlett High School as the Student Council President, coordinating the school’s blood drives, and has also been a member of the tennis and soccer teams. Lizzy enjoys giving back to the community, participating in outreach trips to Belize, Brazil, and Tanzania; refugee work in Amman, Jordan; and eyeglasses distribution in Honduras, all of which have generated an interest in international studies.

Bartlett High School’s Class of 2019 Salutatorian is Walter Price. Walt currently holds a 4.5283 weighted grade point average due to his exceptional academic record of Honors and Advanced Placement courses. He serves as the National Honor Society’s Vice-President and is a member of the Beta Club, as well as competing on the Knowledge Bowl team. Walt thoroughly enjoys history and was chosen for the 2017 Tennessee Governor’s School for the Humanities, earning college credit in United States History and Art History. He has also been an active member of the BHS band and a clarinet player, earning the “Most Talented” award in 2018 and being named first chair and marching section leader. Walt also enjoys participating in drama productions with the Bartlett Performing Arts Center and Ellendale Baptist Church.

Both Lizzy and Walt plan to continue their education this fall at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
