UPDATE: Meal Program Info for All Students

BCS Families,

We want to make you aware of some changes to your child’s nutrition program. The USDA has approved an extension to their program that would now allow all BCS students free meals in order to help families during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning September 8, 2020, all BCS students (regardless of their current eligibility) will be able to obtain a free breakfast and/or free lunch each day through December 31, 2020. This program is for all in-person students as well as all 100% virtual and hybrid students. After December 31, 2020, there may be enough federal funds to continue the free meal extension for the remainder of the school year. However, if not, children will fall back to their current eligibility status.

Please note: All virtual or hybrid students will continue to follow the current meal pick-up program protocols as communicated to those students and families on August 25, 2020. The only difference is that starting September 8, all meals will be free. Click here to review details of our virtual and hybrid meal program.

We encourage eligible parents to continue to fill out the free/reduced applications. If the USDA program runs out after December 31, 2020, students would then fall back to their known eligibility status. If you need a free and reduced meal application, you may visit our BCS School Nutrition website here.
