Students and Parents, If you have a low/failing grade in criminal justice, or you would just like an opportunity to improve your grade pay close attention to the following information. Grades for Criminal Justice 1 and 2 are composed of 3 categories. Class Work grades are worth 30%, Quiz grades are worth 30%, and Tests/Projects are rolled into one category worth 40%. Bartlett City Schools has approved the following grade improvement opportunity for the students’ third quarter grades: Classwork and Quiz grades: On the Bartlett City Schools website during the week of April 27th through May 1st three assignments will be posted for the criminal justice classes. During the week of May 4th through May 8th three more assignments will be posted. Out of those 6 assignment the students are allowed to complete 4 of them for a grade. Those 4 grades will replace the lowest 4 grades for those students in the Class Work and Quiz categories. So, to be clear the students can not complete all 6 assignments and receive 6 grades. Only 4 grades will be substituted from the work posted to the Bartlett City Schools Website. It is important to remember that only grades form Quarter 3 can be replaced, and Quarter 3 will count as the students’ Semester 2 grades. The work posted will be a series of quizzes on quizziz.com. The codes to participate in those quizzes will be available in the instructions for each assignment. This work will include all of the criminal justice 1 and 2 classes from both teachers. For that reason, the format the students use to input their names on quizziz.com is very important. The students should type their First Name then a Space then their Last Name then a Space then their teachers last name followed by their class period. For example, if my name was John Doe and I was in Mr. Riding’s 4th period class my name on quizizz.com would look like the following: John Doe Riding4 If a student chooses not to use that format there is a chance that their replacement grade will be overlooked, and they may not receive credit for their work. If the student needs to take the quiz more than once that is acceptable, and it is ok if quizziz.com auto populates a new name for them such as John Doe Riding4*. As long as the first 3 parts of their name are correct it will be easier to locate them. When the student has completed all of the assignments (up to 4) that they plan on completing they should email their teacher with their name and class period in the email subject line and in the body of the email tell their teacher which assignments they have chosen to complete. Tests/Projects grades: There are 2 grade replacement opportunities for the Test/Projects category. Both of these can be completed and emailed to the student’s teacher and will take the place of the 2 lowest grades for Tests/Projects in Quarter 3. Students interested in completing these 2 projects should contact their teacher directly. Due Date and Time May 8th at 2pm: ***All of the quizzes on quizziz.com will shut off at 2pm on May 8th and there will not be any other makeup opportunities. Projects emailed to the teacher after 2pm on May 8th will not count as a grade. It would be advisable that the students email their teachers with their completed work and information about the quizzes they have completed before the due date and time in case there are any problems.
