Print out the Phonics and Fluency pdf or open pdf on device. Let your child read through as much of the passage as they can. Only help as needed. Let them fill in the answers to the questions after each passage. Students can read the passages 3 more times to work on fluency.

Work on one story each day (more if you want). Practice sounding out your words and remember your sight words! Answer the questions and read each story at least 4 times to work on your fluency.

Watch the Reading Comprehension video with your child. Download and print the reading comprehension stories. There are 4 different stories and activities to complete. Read the story 3 times before completing the activity. You may have to help your child with 1 or 2 words in the passage.. Encourage them to use their reading strategies to figure out the word. Read the directions for the activities to your child.
 
Student Instructions
Listen to Jack Hartmann's Reading Comprehension song. Your parent is going to give you a story. Read it 3 times. Color a star after you read the story. Use your reading strategies to help with words you may not know - look at the picture - look at the first letter - look for "chunks" etc. . After you have all 3 stars colored, you are ready to complete the activity. Your parent will help you read the directions. Have fun. Happy Reading!

Have your child listen to “Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch” by Eileen Spinelli through Storyline Online.
 
Student Instructions
While listening to the story, focus on how Mr. Hatch changes throughout the story and why? After listening to the book, answer the prompt. What caused Mr. Hatch to change during the story? Use details from the story to support your answer. Be sure to state your opinion, give three reasons, and a conclusion statement. Take a photo of your piece and upload it to Seesaw or log in to your Seesaw and click the green plus sign to add a note which will allow you to type and post your response to your teacher.

Watch Harry's Kindergarten Adding and Subtracting Song. Download and print the activity sheets. There are 3 addition and 3 subtraction sheets. Read the story problem to your child. Ask your child if they need to add or subtract to solve the problem. He/she will needs to draw a picture, use the number line and write an equation to show the answer for each problem.

You will need a deck of playing cards or Uno cards to play this game. Remove face cards, if using Uno cards remove Draw 4, Draw 2, Reverse, Skip, and Wild. The directions to the Addition War game are in the attached link. You divide the cards into two stacks. Each player draws 2 cards. Each player adds the numbers to find the sum. The player with the highest sum wins the cards. If you get the same sum, each player draws 2 more cards and lays them on top of the first 2 cards. The player with the highest sum wins all 8 cards. Continue playing until all cards are gone. Count the cards you have collected. The player with the most cards wins.

Check out the materials and what is needed. - Follow directions on the procedure page. - Let your child draw a picture of what they think will happen, the draw another of what actually happened. - The YouTube video is available if you would like to watch the experiment first before trying it on your own.

Listen to the weather song. Point out the weather words as you watch. Download and print the weather book. Your child will need to look at the pictures on the first 4 pages. Identify the type of weather and write it on the line to complete the sentence. Color the pictures of clothing that you would wear for that particular type of weather. Next, your child will need to complete the weather report for today's weather. Finally, they can draw and write about their favorite kind of weather!

Watch the Symbols of America with your child. Afterwards ask if they have any questions. You can search the internet together to find the answers of let the child send the question to their teacher. We would love to help. Then let them watch the 50 States song, it is super catchy. Maybe learn it together. Print off the USA map and the American Flag.

Watch Symbols of America. If you have any questions ask the adult in the house or send it to your teacher. Then listen to the 50 States song, see how many times you have to listen to get them all right. While you are learning the 50 states, take your time and color the 50 states page. Then you can color the USA flag. Remember you always submit pictures or videos of your work to your teacher.

Download the Community Scavenger Hunt. Get into your car or on your bike and take your child to find all the places in their community. Remember to use social distancing.
