This week, students will read articles and answer questions in the section titled "Why is it problematic to make assumptions about others?" The ELA teachers can see their responses on their own computers, so students will not need to submit anything.

The articles for this week fall under the section "Why is it problematic to make assumptions about others?" The articles are as follows: "The Lion and the Mouse" by Aesop; "Gramma's Favorite" by Lois Fuller Lews; and "The Wild Dog of Caucomgomoc" by Charles Boardman Hawes. Remember that you can highlight words to get their definitions, annotate the text, and create notes. Your teachers can see your notes, your answers to the multiple choice questions, and your written response answers. For written response questions, remember to address the question, explain your reasoning, and provide text evidence. A one-sentence answer for written response questions is not enough.

Each selection provides a summary and reviews of the work that you can preview before your student starts reading. Titles are available in six languages and cover a wide variety of topics as well as classical literature.

Parents: For this week's Enrichment activity, students will follow the directions on the Legends of Learning Step Sheet to create an account and log-in to play a gaming style review of Percent. (See the Teacher Assigned PLAYLISTS) Students can also complete a cumulative math skill review in The Awakening Game that is also available in Legends of Learning.

Students: You will download the file "StepSheet- Legends of Learning" and follow the directions to create an account and log-in. If your teacher has an account, you may receive a different TEACHER CODE to use via your email, REMIND, or Curve. Once your account is created, you will log-in and there are several PLAYLISTS assigned to review percent and comparing rates. There is also a challenging review of all math skills in The Awakening Game. You can play The Awakening review game automatically once you log-in, but your assigned Playlists may not show up immediately. If you are new to Legends of Learning, your playlists will appear after you join, so check back later in the day or the next day to see the new playlists.
