welcome back this isn't the circumstance that I thought I would be welcoming everyone to the 2021 school year but here we are I Tell You Folks this is very unprecedented times in my 33 years of being in this business I've never seen anything like the situation that were in you know as many of our Portland family members remember we went through the merger of the Memphis city and Shelby County School System very stressful trying times new Municipal School System against trying times but none of that compares to the situation we find ourselves in today thing I will say is that the number one thing I've always known about each and everyone of you how you care about her students if you care about our community we are going to do everything that we possibly can to ensure a safe school year whether that's through our virtual learning platform weather person with all of those measures that that were putting in place you know where are Guiding Light through this as far as how we're going to do things is always what are Shelby County Health Department in the city he got lines provide for us so we're going to continue to follow that but I know right now is a time where are students our community and our parents everybody needs they need us to Japan abiye a calm in the storm they need us to be there for our students emotionally that they they have so many needs a lot of time to start a garden for our students will not take you like that but teachers now is the time I think they they really need their teachers there to help connect and to make give them some semblance of normalcy it's going to be a challenging we're going to get through this we're going to always number one keep a positive attitude fully believe that if we look at things is the glass half-full that's that's going to be our best way of looking at it even though we know there's going to be challenges for going to be changed this is something that where we are today may not be where we are in 2 weeks 3 weeks to months or 3 months. We're going to be changing when we listen to our health officials will be listening to everything we can to make our learning environment with safe as it possibly could be we're going to do everything we can to make sure that our students receive that education at the end of the day we know the most important thing any students life is that interaction in that connection with that teacher again challenging but I know each and every one of you will be there you will do everything you can in your power to make this this year this year than can possibly be in Bartlett as you know through trying times through good times to all times there's no place I'd rather be thank you list have a great year and let's all be ready to be flexible patient and show a lot of great thank you
