I think I'm ready all right so on the employee benefits supervisor for Bartlett city schools and we are getting ready for open enrollment you probably have had an opportunity hopefully to review the brochure that was sent out last week and I appreciate you registering for today's meeting is information only so this is just an opportunity for you to ask questions maybe learn more about the benefits that we offer our employee is open enrollment will be the 19th through April 19th through May 3rd and any changes that you make during open enrollment or effective 911 so just a little bit of Tippets I'm just going to kind of go through and make sure that's the right one ok just I just kind of want to bring out some points I don't know whether you have the medical plan but so some of these are new some of them or that we introduced last year so if you need radiation or chemotherapy Services if you go to Baptist always been you don't have to pay a co-pay for that you get zero co-pays if you have through Evo care which is a provider is through Diagnostic Imaging so if you had have a MRI CAT scan or anything like that if you look on your ID card there is a evil care logo you can just have your provider to to schedule your appointment through Diagnostic Imaging services in Memphis and you don't have to pay a co-pay so there are co-pays associated with if you have Diagnostic Imaging but if use this facility you don't have to take oh babe also if you haven't opportunity to take advantage of our clinics that care for us clinics we've got one in Bartlett and one in Collierville you don't have to pay copay there we have Specialty Pharmacy Services through Baptist Hospital mail order sister Baptist in Costco and then using the GoodRx app is a way for you to save on prescription cost at the pharmacy Telehealth I don't know if any of you you had opportunity with covid-19 enrollment very similar to what we did last year so you're going to go online and do your re-up for your benefits also related to Cove in his visits and testing for Tomodachi covered of Hunter the vaccine if you've had the vaccine it was covered at 100% if you haven't it still covered at 100% And then also related to David if you had the flexible spending account 4 years ago you couldn't get over the counter medicine reimbursed unless you had a prescription for those medicine so now you can receive over the counter medicines you can't cry as eligible expense and you don't have to have a prescription for that so that's a that's a good benefit I hope that that becomes permanent but I don't know but at this point time it is it is ongoing so and then like I just mentioned online enrollment we're going to sign up for the benefits starting on Monday the side is through American Fidelity is called enroll so you'll have an opportunity to go online and make you change us there if at a later date you you would prefer to wait and make changes with an American Fidelity representative then I will advertise a second opportunity for you to make changes so please look for that if you prefer to to wait until after the third any like I said Bruce Lee any changes you make during this time or effective 9-1 so you sign up for the dental you know and you didn't previously have it make sure that you save your appointments until after September added dependents make sure that you wait until those dependents on your plan before you start scheduling appointments I know the summer is very convenient for you to kind of schedule all of those services at that time when you're off but just to make sure that you're aware that if you're scheduling services for benefits don't currently have the both don't go into effect September 1st of Jackson's election for the benefits or is August 31st so please please I can't stress enough to make sure you look at that first check with deductions to make sure that the benefits that you've elected as what you're being charged for also whenever you make your benefit elections you can print off a PDF form and it will tell you what you've elected who is listed for each of the plans that you've elected so like if you know maybe you're covering a child for medical maybe you got your spouse for dental and vision that form is going to show you what benefits each dependent or listed so you want to make sure check for accuracy and obviously if you need to make any changes stop immediately because the later that you wait to make those changes the more difficult it becomes for you to be able to make this change before you sign your election form make sure your date of birth is correct date of birth for all your dependents to correct your address is correct and then verify you know just verified that the benefits that you've elected as what what you wanted do for the medical really there's any changes to the majority of the benefits you know other than the little tidbits that I kind of brought out earlier the co-pays that you're paying today or be the same co-pays your pain currently changing medical benefit vendor so woohoo do that so really no changes at all and I don't know if y'all went well I'll probably show that will been a good news in the in a moment but you know I said what time I didn't read is basically the same as last year but just kind of letting you know that if you need certain services at bad doesn't even care that you can get those covered at 100% you don't pay copay mail-order drugs and Specialty drugs at Baptist we do receive additional savings so if you've got a maintenance drugs that you're getting or specially drugs you might want to look at the savings that you could Steve at Baptist with their mail order were able to get a really good discount because of the fact that they get Hospital pricing so if you see if you're getting your maintenance-free drugs that say Kroger even though Kroger is is a discount pharmacy in your getting a good deal you still might be able to enjoy better savings or deeper savings by looking at Baptist like I said there they're getting Hospital pricing in Krogers not not able to obtain that so contact information is there it's also in your brochure on anything we discuss today you can go and visit at the employee benefits web page as well and then other ways to save on prescriptions sometimes if you don't go to the doctor very often you still may be getting you know your your medicines monthly your additional voices money on your prescription if you're able to and if there's a generic available always if you can tutu use the generic generic copay is $10 and if you get your generics through the clinic you don't pay anything so that certainly way to to save money look for discounts or coupons with the GoodRx there's been times when you know maybe the drug that I had to get didn't have a a generic and I was paying the brand brand drug you get additional savings if you can find coupons though certainly take advantage of the GoodRx use that in conjunction with your insurance it's not an either-or type of a situation also review your own personal prescriptions by going to Med then you can review what the cost is that way you when you get to the pharmacy kind of have a good idea what you might pay double check with your doctor Farm to see if there's any programs that you might be eligible for and then take advantage of the flexible spending account if you're getting your paying a lot on prescription the flex account can help you offset on those caused by saving money on your taxes when I'll go over the flex account in a little bit and then also using mail order through Costco do any of these are way a male or in general is is certainly a way to save money on your prescriptions cost the dental benefits same benefits that we currently have today through Delta Dental honestly I don't really hear anything from anyone relating to Delta Dental and usually if you don't hear anything about any one's calling you about anything it's usually doing what it's supposed to do and paying claim so it offers search network of providers and there's two plan options once a $1,500 plan option meaning that the maximum benefit level at Paces 15 and then if you need a addition services or you know maybe you're your you need more major Services than you might look at the the better Richard benefit of up to $2,000 and the cost is we'll go over the also a little bit but it's in your brochure as well Vision we had Davis Vision for a number of years and very similar to The Dental I don't hear any any feedback from that which two main cells is doing what it's supposed to do if you don't have the dental plan but you wear glasses you certainly might want to look at the benefits if my eye doctor always tells me that the benefits that we received under Davis Vision is very rich very good plan so office very good discounts off of those buy up options like the transition lens of the progressive lens so do you wear glasses you might want to look at that planza premiums are very very affordable and there's also a large network of providers just to kind of go over some of the benefits that you may not aware of Oil City Schools offers the basic life policy that equal to a 2 times your annual contract salary there's also a writer for a D&D which is accidental death and dismemberment like I said that pays 100% of that in addition to the basic life you have the opportunity to add additional life on yourself your spouse and your child or children the information on that is then brochure but it's also listed here you do have to have the optional life before you can add the spouse and or child life so it depended upon the having the option of life if you don't currently have any of these benefits you would have to be to qualify but the rates are very competitive so if you're in good health and you know certainly you might want to look at that if you don't already have it specially if you were if you're looking to add life insurance maybe down the road long term disability of the the oldest city schools does off for one term disability it's also through standard which provides our life insurance long-term Isabel is designed to pay you 60% of your pre disability earnings and similar to the life insurance if you don't currently have it you will be considered a light in Broly and so you'd have to Supply statement of  but if this is something that you're concerned about because with the with long term disability the rates are very very affordable because the likelihood of you having oh long. Or medical issue is very low in most cases and so this just helps to ensure that you have continued salary if you had to be out for 6 months or longer so I'm going to talk about some of the American Fidelity products we talked a second ago about the flexible spending account the flexible spending account is a way for you to say save money free tax on items that you were already purchasing or already paying for so like when you go to the doctor you pay everybody has a doctor copay so you know that's a eligible expense when call the pharmacy in you pick up a prescription you're paying a co-pay so that's an eligible expense thing with your with eyeglasses or dental visits all of those all of the benefits through the insurance plans that the offer in most cases they have a co-pay or deductible of some sort which is your responsibility so a flex account helps you to pay for those especially large ticket items so like if you've got to your Maybe children who are about to have braces you've got a surgery that's coming up you know you got to find a way to pay the deductible or pay for the the braces this helps you to feel for that this helps you till 4 that bye-bye setting up a pre-tax account what happens is that you receive a debit card pre-loaded with whatever amount that you have to Carmen did you spend annually on these out-of-pocket expenses and then when you get your debit card you'll use your debit card to pay at the doctor or the pharmacy or or whatever do you want to be conservative whenever you make your election cuz if you set aside too much you have to use it on an eligible expense so if you set aside too much we can't refund you amount that you may go over expense so you do want to be conservative so plan for those things that you know you'll spend and not for things that you might not and then I said over the prescription over-the-counter meds used to used to have a prescription to be able to receive a benefit from those you don't have to do that nails to nail over-the-counter prescriptions used to be a good way that if you had a little bit of money left over at the end of the plan year you can go to Walmart or Kroger and stock up on your cold meds and stuff like that that way you can spend that down do you make sure that whatever you whatever amount that you use the two that you keep receipts for whatever services that you might have just in case because the American Fidelity might request a receipt to verify the expense that's not really on them that's the IRS requiring them to do that so but it is a good venison specially you can use at least $300 on the maximum this year is 2750 kind of a partner to the flex account is dependent child care account so if you have children that your pants I'll care for you can I use this to save money immediately on your taxes it's the same benefit that you get on your income tax so it's just really up to you whether you were you receive the benefit Now by doing the dependent child care or receive the benefit later on your income tax you don't get a debit card with this and you actually have to have the amount in the account that you want to be reimbursed so initially whenever you get it started it may feel like you're paying for it twice but once you once you submit your second reimbursement by DN you're you're kind of on a on a pretty even schedule additional products that are offered by American Deli or the short-term disability that we offered the long-term disability and like I said earlier in the long term disability the rest is low for you to have a medical event that would cause you to be out six months with the short-term disability obviously there's a greater opportunity for that vegetable we were sitting in a patient with a benefit and you get to select that benefit whatever benefit amount you determine it is based on your salary and it would pay you after day 7 or day 14 depending plan it does cover maternity what's a lot of disabilities don't so you know and it would cover you all the way up until if you had the long-term disability would cover you all the way up so you're just built your long-term disability so it would pay you days Saturday 14 all the way up today at 180 the cancer a critical illness or benefits that are specific to those illnesses they do have Wellness writers or Wellness benefit so it does encourage you to get your well your annual Wellness checkup so when you do that on you can submit the those planes or verification that you had that Wellness event or Wellness the service and they will pay you directly for that is so it rewards you for your Wellness Sam's but cancer and the critical illness cancer pays if you have a cancer event space for the major events such as heart attack stroke that aren't can related and so you can certainly talk to American Fidelity representative if you're interested in those plans I certainly would invite you to look for the second and roll when you can sign up with a American representative Fidelity representative so they can talk to you about the the benefits we both plan the accident plan would pay you frankly if you were in or your family if you sign up for family had an accident so it helps you to pay if you had to be off or is similar to the other plans all these plans pay you directly if you had to be off or if you had a an event where you had an accident and end I'll just kind of give you this little tidbit it even covers if you had Poison Ivy and you went to the doctor to get poison ivy soap Poison Ivy's considered master bath so if you got children especially that are in sports or you have a husband who's accident-prone or you're accident-prone it might be it might be worth taking a peek at I laugh at the accident-prone cuz that's my husband but you can't tell him I said that okay so the rates so I don't know if y'all got the good news memo but I was so excited I wrote it down in my calendar that are rates for the medical are the same next year as they are gay and that and that has not happened in a long while so write down your calendar that no changes to the medical no changes to the to the gym the same premiums only change is a very very very slight increase on the vision so in the vision is very affordable anyway so I don't think that you should see really any changes in your check it also that really is great news so please tell everybody you know all of all of everybody's good choices and have brought about this so anyway that's that's almost say about it I mentioned earlier about our care for us if you haven't had an opportunity to go to the clinics receive Services it it really is a good benefit like I said it doesn't cost you anything and then they have there is a doctor there doctor Cruise she's wonderful she would love to be your primary care physician so you know if you don't have primary care physician you might want to you know take out opportunity to go talk to her and you know it if you're on any maintenance drugs you know if there's anything that they can provide the generic you know they'll even mail them to you you get mail order so really is a great great benefit so it's not only just for Urgent Care it does cover all of your dependents who are covered under the medical plan so it's not just for you as your dependents that are also covered under the medical plan and in addition to that if you know in addition to the to the care for us if you if you call a cure for tongue out with nobody gets take on a Friday or Monday it's always a Saturday or Sunday when when the clinic is cold closer your doctor is closed but you can call the care here support center and you can be seen at The Little Clinic won't cost you anything at The Little Clinic accept if they were to write a prescription will cost your co-pay on your prescription but they do wave the doctor copay so you know if for some reason you know you need to get appointment to the clinic in there job for like I said if it's after hours and the clinic is closed call the support center so that you can receive the same Services they're probably most Everybody Knows by now that we do have a NASCAR about so if if you're have a spouse and they have on insurance or are eligible for insurance for their employer then they are not eligible for the medical to be your medical plan unless there are certain circumstances so if they're if they're an employee of one of the seven participating entities if they're retired running Floyd or if they're self-employed and are they don't have access to insurance or if their employer is a very small employer where they may provide insurance if they don't pay anything for it there is a spouse affidavit that we would require you to sleep to so that your spouse could remain or or be on the medical insurance doesn't affect the dental vision alive so it's just for the medical plan okay so some of this I may have already covered but what do you do after you roll make sure you should get an email copy of evil acted like I said you can also download that PDF PDF is actually going to tell you specifically the members that are listed the email that you receive will just kind of give you a snapshot your license and the cost that is not going to give you the number so you can download that PDF if it's after may make sure that you either look for American Fidelity virtual enrollment and sign up for that or if you can reach out to the benefits department so that we can make those Corrections if you find something that needs corrected if you make changes the medical please make sure that you look for ID cards are they should be around the first of September receiving and then make sure you give those to your doctor and your pharmacist first seductions 31st and then open enrollment changes or not one and then like I said make sure you look at that that check to make sure everything is correct this is my information if you need to
