BCS Announces New ESSER Supervisor

Mrs. Lawson has been an educator for over twenty (20) years, and has spent the past fifteen (15) years serving at Altruria Elementary School in various capacities. Mrs. Lawson has most recently served as the Assistant Principal for six (6) years. Mrs. Lawson has also served as a classroom teacher, Professional Learning Community coach (PLC), and managed the schools Title I funds to ensure the school stayed in compliance with all federal requirements. Mrs. Lawson received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from The University of Memphis and her Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Trevecca Nazarene University, in Nashville Tennessee. 

Mrs. Lawson, and her husband, have a daughter and live in Arlington. However, her Bartlett roots are deep, with both her and her husband having graduated from Bartlett High School.

While Mrs. Lawson is excited to step into her new role as the ESSER Supervisor, she stated that leaving Altruria is bittersweet. Throughout her years at Altruria, she has worked with numerous teachers, students, and parents and built relationships that feel like family. She is excited to begin this new role and continue to help our families, school district, and community.
