New Principal Announcements

BaadeBartlett City Schools is pleased to announce that Steven Baade has been selected as the newest principal at Bartlett Elementary School beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.  
Mr. Baade has worked with teachers, students and their families at Bartlett Elementary School as an assistant principal for eight (8) years. Prior to that, Mr. Baade worked for legacy Shelby County Schools as an English Language Arts (ELA)/World Language Supervisor and English as a Second Language (ESL) Facilitator. He has taught all grade levels, K-12 as an ESL teacher and as a Spanish teacher. Mr. Baade has a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in Spanish Ed, K-12, a Master’s Degree from University of Memphis in English (ESL), and a Master’s Degree from Arkansas State University in Educational Leadership.

Dr. David Stephens, Superintendent of Bartlett City Schools, stated, “I am excited to bring someone with Steven’s experience and background to continue the great work at Bartlett Elementary. His time spent at BES both as a teacher and administrator, as well as his central office experience, will serve him well as he transitions to this new role.“

Mr. Baade states that while it is bittersweet to leave the Teaching & Learning Department, where he has had to opportunity to grow professionally, he is excited to return to the Bartlett Elementary family. He looks forward to continuing the legacy of success and reconnecting with the students, families, and staff at Bartlett Elementary, which he truly feels are the “BESt”.

 

 

WilliamsBartlett City Schools is pleased to announce that John (JJ) Williams has been selected as the newest principal at Bon Lin Middle School beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.  
Mr. Williams has worked in education for over twenty-three (23) years, beginning as a Math teacher at Tipton County Schools. From there, he spent twelve (12) years as a Math teacher with Shelby County Schools. Mr. Williams joined Bartlett City Schools when the district was formed where he served as a teacher for four (4) years at the high school level. Mr. Williams has also served as the Title 1 Facilitator for Appling Middle and Bon Lin Middle and most recently, held the role of Assistant Principal for four (4) years at our Bartlett City Schools Alternative School located on the campus of Bartlett High Ninth Grade Academy. Mr. Williams has an undergraduate Mathematics degree and a Master’s Degree in Education from Bethel University and also holds an Educational Specialist, ED.S from the University of Memphis.  

Dr. David Stephens, Superintendent of Bartlett City Schools, stated, “I am pleased to announce JJ as our new principal at Bon Lin Middle School. I’ve had the pleasure to work with JJ over the past twenty years and to see him grow as a leader has been most rewarding. The many leadership roles he has had during his career, and his commitment to the Bartlett community, will ensure Bon Lin Middle continues to excel.” 

JJ, who is a product of Bartlett schools, is married to Courtney and together they have two children. JJ is excited to continue his educational journey at Bon Lin Middle and is looking forward to building relationships with the students, families, and staff while serving in this new leadership role.
