Discrimination, Bullying, Harassment and Title IX HR

Bullying and Harassment

The Bartlett City Board of Education has determined that a safe, civil, and supportive learning environment is necessary both for students to achieve high academic standards and for staff to effectively perform their professional duties. Such environment shall always be free from harassment in any form. Acts of discrimination, bullying, cyber-bullying, harassment, hazing, or any other victimization of others, based on actual or perceived traits or characteristics, are prohibited.

Title VI

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving Federal financial assistance. Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by discriminatory practices under Title VI may file a complaint with the BCS Director of Student Services or the BCS Director of Human Resources. Title VII

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, and religion. Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by discriminatory practices under Title VII may file a complaint with the BCS Director of Human Resources. Title IX

Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and protects people from sex-based discrimination in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX prohibits several types of sex-based discrimination and harassment including verbal, nonverbal, and physical conduct of a sexual nature. Bartlett City Schools prohibits all forms of sexual harassment and discrimination. Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by discriminatory practices under Title IX may file a complaint with the Title IX Coordinator using the information below:
