Parent Instructions
Reading Comprehension using words with blends (bl, cl, and fl):
1. Watch the Jack Hartmann Blends video to refresh your child's memory with what a blend is.
2 Read each passage with your child three times.
3. Have your child color the words that have the focused blend in the passage. For example, if the blend for that passage is "bl", have them color over the word "blue".
4. Have your child answer the two questions about the passage by coloring the correct answer.
5. Do the same for all three blend passages.

Open the PDF and print out if you can. If not, student will need a piece of paper and pencil to complete. You may have to assist in reading the words.
 
Student Instructions
Look at the picture and the box of words next to it. Read each word in the box and try to think of what the sentence should say (should go along with the picture). Write the words in the correct order to make a complete sentence. Don't forget to capitalize the first word, space between the words, and add a punctuation mark at the end.

Use the link to listen to Harry Kindergarten CVC words song. Download and print the document. There are 5 sentences made up of cvc and sight words. Have your child read each sentence to you. Have your child tell you which picture goes with the sentence.
 
Student Instructions
Listen to the CVC word song. Blend the letter sounds as you sing the song to make words! Read the sentences to you parent. Find the picture that matches the sentence. Cut and paste the picture in the correct box.

1). Watch Jack Hartman on Youtube: Count By 5's.
2). Continue to practice writing numbers by filling in the Skip Counting by 5's worksheet.
3). Ready for some outdoor counting fun: Try jumping jacks while counting by 5's / Step Off: sound off a count for every step and go all the way to 100 / Catch and Count: Bounce a ball back and forth. On every bounce sound off with a count and go all the way to 100 / Snap and Clap: give a count on each snap and clap as you sound off all the way to 100!

1). Watch video on counting by 5's.
2) Fill in the worksheet with the missing numbers as you write to 100 by 5's.
3). Try some outdoor fun to practice counting by 5's: Jumping Jacks / step off and count to 100 by 5's / catch a ball and count as it bounces / snap and clap as you count by 5 to 100.

You will look at the pictures at the top to help you determine what numbers you will use to fill in the number sentences below. Once you figure out the number sentence for each set, solve the problem by writing your answer next to the equal sign.

Students will explore the Studies Weekly Week 11. They can either have it read to them or attempt to read it on their own. Students will then be asked to either draw or take a picture of 3 living things that grow and send it to their teacher or upload it to SeeSaw if they can. Extra learning opportunity: plant a seed and keep a journal of how it changes and grows.

Read through the page and show the student the pictures of how plastic can affect animals in our world. Then select Simple Things You Can Do To Save the Earth. Click on the different articles and read. Then select the games at the bottom to complete.
