Common Lit Article "Autumntime" by Anthony Lentini
Parent Instructions
Students should read and annotate the text "Autumntime" By Anthony Lentini then answer the four questions. Once complete, students will then create a video answering the two discussion questions at the end of the PDF. More specific video directions will be sent by their ELA teacher through email.

Parents, your child may have read this story last week. These are new questions that extend their thinking about the idea of intelligence and control. These questions also provide students with the opportunity to think about how intelligence and control can also be seen in the Behind the Scenes unit we studied last quarter. Have students read the text "Examination Day". Have students then complete the questions in the attached document. They can upload their completed assignments according to the instructions of their teacher.

To manipulate the tools within the virtual lab students will click and drag the desired object to the specified location. Students will create a "lab journal" to record their data and answer the 4 questions at the end of the activity. Students may use the "createagraph" website for graphing their results. It has tutorials on what graph to use for different situations and how to build it. They do NOT have to use this graphing site. They can create their own graph for submission using whichever platform they are comfortable with. Students will be reviewing several Renaissance artists, inventors, and writers with this activity. Students will choose 3 of the 5 Renaissance men to focus on. For each one, they will create either a business card or a video advertisement as if they are applying to work for the Medici family, a prominent family during the Renaissance. All instructions are outlined in the document. When they have completed all 3 business cards/advertisement videos, they can choose to turn it in to their teacher using their teacher's preferred method - Curve, email, etc.
